We have made a lot of the reproductions for a few years now, (there is another company out of China making them at the moment though) flip that bottle over and if 90316 is on the underside of the tank, let me know and I will happily warranty it.
The idiot light housings work equally as well, I generally steer people toward using those whenever they are looking because those cars seem to be in better shape when they are parted out/scrapped for whichever reasons.
Also, for the OP, I am unsure if you saw but, Dakota does make a direct...
They are available for the El Camino and the 2/4-door cars currently, We have the El Camino versions on the shelf, and the others should be back in stock soon.
The sending unit that you posted is meant for a coupe or sedan tank, the El Camino tank uses a different sending unit. Here is a picture of an El Camino EFI sending unit.
They have been available for a year or so now, Goodmark makes them and they are nice for repro rails, Conrads were thicker from what I remember but for the money, the Goodmark rails are nice. The current ETA from what I have been told is also closer to February if anyone is shopping.
That bracket is different on the BOP cars from my experience, we have repros on the shelf for $9.95 for the Chevrolet or the BOP configuration, the difference being the cable opening.
I like my Foxbody 8.8 with Trick Chassis arms, I got 5x4.75 axles and it's pretty darn bolt in aside from having to weld spring perches onto it. I'm in it for less than a 1000 bucks too.
I may be wrong, but, I believe the tach output on your 4.3 comes from the white wire on the coil. The tach filter we have would still work but the ends would need to be changed.
I just grabbed a new tach and a used cluster that I have kicking around. The idiot light printed circuit board has the power and ground that you will need but you will need to run a tach filter and the rest of the signal wire from the end of the filter to the stud on the back of the tach.
A factory tach will bolt into the cluster, I can't speak to the original tachs but the new ones have an adjustable resistor on the backside of them so you can adjust it for a v6 car.
I have American Modern for my personal car, my hood latch failed a few years back and destroyed the dashboard, hood, windshield, and moldings. The payout was a little slow, but the claims adjuster I had made sure to double-check everything and knew I would fix it myself so they included a bit...
