Rack vs manual gear box, spill pan vs engine diaper *updated

What is the ratio of this steering box. The 2.5 deg of caster is a good compromise. More is better centering but if max ease of wheel effort is the goal, then you aim for zero.
Some old cars even go negative but I do not agree with that.
Why so much toe?

So much toe because of what the factory manual says. And it seemed to help, but that doesn't mean that it's the solution.

The gear box ratio is 25:1. According to the vendor, it's 6.25 turns lock to lock. But I have interference at 6 turns (plus a little).
