Cutlass Project

So here it is. I didn't want to start one of these threads until I was making some progress and finally I think i'm making some head way. Here it is the day I picked it up in Detroit, orginally a Missouri car.





Now I had it for a little bit before I started playing with it. If it didn't have a seized 307 I would've drove it around, but instead I went this route.






After I had the front end off I played around a little bit to see how bad the motor was. After I had water come out of 4 of the spark plug holes I figured it was toast. So out it came.

Along the lines of pulling the motor the interior had to come out. I had a good idea of what I could expect after seeing the t tops siliconed in.






So like i expected I needed a new pan. So I ordered this from California.


The good thing is the t top roof wasn't that bad.

Then after a long time off of working on it, it's finally going off to a body guy. So off it goes.










There is a guy that is going to do the body work for my, he is a painter a dealership and gonna do it on the side at his house. He's also gonna swap out my floor pan and then reassemble it for me.

Yeah, the paint was pretty faded, it definetly sat outside in the sun for a long time. The Landau top was compltey sun burned off the top off the car.

Well, I have a 403 out of a 77 delta 88. Its bored .30 over. I have some 7a heads built by mondello. They were on some guys 350 drag motor, he was going to a big block so he was selling his small block stuff. It had a comp cam in it when i got it so I don't know the specs. Put some roller tip rockers in it, I have an edelbrock 750 with a two inch spacer sitting on an edelbrock performer intake.

Well, the guy doing my body work has got my floor pans cut out.
