Was bleeding the brakes today to finish off my manual brake swap and all of a sudden heard a pop. The noise was the NEW front brake caliper breaking. Calipers are from speedway motors, here is a link and a picture. Feedback and comments welcome.

Wow! That doesn't really inspire a whole lot of confidence now does it? I haven't heard of anything bad about them but I haven't really looked either. It wouild make me second guess just getting another one though.

I have never seen this before ever. All the parts are BRAND NEW not refurbished. I will be looking at different calipers.

If they took a standard caliper body and just enlarged the piston without adding any strength, then I suppose the increased hydraulic pressure just snapped that sucker clean off.

Reason I ask was I got some boxed rear control arms from Speedway, and they were well made in India. But I have a campaign against any kind of China crap. Things don't fit/or break first use.
