how to upgrade alternator

is there a car out there that i can swap alternators with to get higher amps? i got mine off a 81 silverado and i think its 80 amp or something low like that. will a 120 off like a camaro just swap right in?

Ok so i picked up a CS130 off a 92 pick up truck 5.7L serpertine set up... But know how do i know if i need that resitor or non resitor? Something about idiot lights and gauges, im confused... Need to know what plug i need and part number..

do you have idiot lights or a factory voltmeter. napa part # ec82 for voltmeters and part #ec80 for idiot lights

Ok define idiot light for me? No factory voltmeter, i have an after Equus volt gauge all after market Gauges
