Finally the 20th of April and 90% of the bugs are worked out. Build a car they said its fun the say
Put on a new Holley 770 could not get the car dialed in would run ok then proceed to be a bag of crap was fouling plugs on all 8... This motor is fresh everything is new.. Well we assumed. after 4 plug changes an oil change (Oil was good, Filter clean) I put the brakes on progressing forward and ordered a Holley Sniper 2 EFI with return-less pump and a brand new tank.
fired it up let it do its thing fuel pump did not like the Oil Pressure kill switch, More on that in a minute. Finally fired up and seemed to run better got to the drive part and it was still a little argumentative.. Headed to NAPA and grabbed a new Cap and Rotor... Turns out the carb wasn't sh*t after all. drove it for a day of so letting the Sniper 2 learn parked the car in the driveway
Went to start it up and nothing, Turns out that pump draws more amperage then that switch liked the switch died So no more fuel LOL. Took a minute to figure that out jumped the switch and we were back in business until.... Turned the corner and shorted out the jumper wire... On the side of the road thinking im going to need to push this heap home I got to inspecting turns out when the jumper arched out it popped the fuse between the throttle body and the Display...
New fuse and boom fires up. Now for the embarrassing part... I pick up the wife we go for a drive man this car feels right like the last time I drove it in 2014 went down town to hit the strip... Stop and go got to one of the last red lights SMOKE !!!! think Whoops, Waters good, Oils good running great WTF Wheel Cylinder sh*t the bed causing the right rear to drag the shoes in the drum..
I mean it could be worse LOL
I've ordered a Holley 12-810 Electric Fuel Pump Safety Pressure Switch I would like to know that incase something bad happens the motor is safe
Looks like im doing brakes again this weekend LOL
