I got the rear brake lines and hoses installed, bled the system and it gushed fluid outta the rubber hose union. I had to cut off the metric bubble flare nuts and put in double flare standard nuts to connect to the rubber hose union as this car doesn't have traction control like the TA would have had which this kit is for.

After much fuss I found the culprit, the new tube nut was bad, the center hole was not centered to the thread and it didn't allow the flare to seat. Great.. cut that nut off and re flared and we're back in business. Still gotta do the front but we have rear brakes.
PXL_20230617_011233619.jpg

Cut down my rails to fit the tee on the driver's rear and finally figured out my fuel rail return on the passenger side.

Rest of the fuel system fittings are on order.

Harness! Adding IAC and TPS to the DBW 99 harness. Removing the DBW pedal and TAC under the dash, replacing the pedal with the 97. I found a 98 Fbird ECU which does CAN gauges and mechanical DBC throttle.

I don't like the bumpstops, they limit travel a bit much for my liking. Granted my car is lowered, but my axle can still hit the "frame" without any tire rub. This really only happens on one local track on the banked oval section with a fat bump in the middle of it. I drove a car with poly bump stops and it was a death trap. On a long corner, the car would lean over and get a case of snap oversteer. The rear wheel rate would spike to infinity. I caught the slide but I'm a badas$, I thought the owner was being a wimp spinning all the time but that's what was causing it. At least some of them anyway.

I yoinked the DBW pedal out and Dad delivered the 97 mechanical throttle pedal on the way down to GoodGuys Thursday. Putting a plan together to get that pedal in the 99.

I was back at Dad's Monday and grabbed a few parts off the 97 to wrap up the interior.

The drivers door panel was off the 99 when Dad picked the car and an ape must have removed it. They forgot a screw and totally F'ed the panel up, put 2 giant cracks in it and had the arm rest glue delaminating. Panel was in the car but totally unusable.

For some reason a lot of 98-02 Fbirds i've seen have this crack in the door panel near the B pillar. The passenger door panel on the 99 does too but the 97 door panels are nice. Pros of a rusty parts car!

Panel fitted. The car is feeling a lot more like a real car with the interior slowly getting put back in 1 piece.

Pinned the IAC and TPS into the 99 harness to make it in effect a 98 harness

Had to re loom some pieces that were missing because this was a cheap harness and added connectors to some ones that were missing and cut down excessive length.

I need to yank the blower and drill and tap a typhoon style IAT sensor into the lower intake so I can see post blower temp instead of pre throttle temp.

Slowly but surely!

Harness is done!

Hptuners communicates with the 98 ECU using the 99 obd2 dash harness!

L67 throttle body sends signal to the 99 harness with TPS added!

97 fbird gas pedal bolted on 99 firewall!

Fuel pump works!

Only bad news is it's not sending 12v to the starter solenoid but it might/probably be the security system.

Big wins!

Aftermarket security system? Factory should let it fire and instantly die.

Not that I have seen?

Good point, OEM should allow it to still provide signal to the starter solenoid.

I have no ground to pin 86 of the starter relay. I'm not sure where where that ground comes from. If it's through the ECU, to chassis and it's not connected, or what....

Is it an automatic or manual car? It either has a neutral safety switch on the clutch or on the shifter.

Auto.

Looking into the wiring diagrams
The neutral safety is between the ignition switch and the relay

Looking into it however it looks like the BCM is the source of ground for the starter relay, so if the security light is on, it won't provide ground. It's not rate for people to bypass the BCM and hardware the relay ground. The BCM also has a known issue where solder connection on the board melt and you loose connection.

Anyways didn't have a ton of time tonight but I ordered new blower gaskets and a typhoon style IAT to go post blower.

I should have ordered new intake manifold gaskets too. I'm sure they need to be refreshed.

I also had my fiero buddy try to recruit me to stick a m122 pack into a m90 housing, so I pulled my crap off the shelf and did some measuring.
