I don't know what it is. But the more I see your car, the more I like it. That color with those rims, such a good combo. Keep up the good work, and keep the pics coming. 8)

phoenyx stole the words right out of my mouth. i have never seen 1 with that color combo and its sick. the floor is looking damn good too.

Nice progress. I'm glad that car was saved instead of junked. I've only seen a few in person within the last 20 years.

And I gotta say this. I really like it when I see younger guys working on a car like this. Rather that putting stick on accessories on a Honda. 8)

Re: 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 resto

I love that you're saving this car...

...But those welds all look super sketchy.
You said you're doing this at your high school... Did your instructor say those were acceptable?
Most look like they lack any good penetration, and you can't just weld up 5 of the spots where the factory originally had a dozen spot welds.
You didn't even grind off the e-coat on the new floor before you welded. You can't weld thru that sh*t, you need bare metal.
With those braces and brackets pretty much tac-welded in place, there's no way it would hold up in a collision.
Did you completely weld the entire perimeter of the replacement floor? Again, it looks like it's just tac welds.
I wouldn't be suprised if it rattles and squeeks like crazy as a result.

And did you not paint, or seam-seal any of your welds? Moisture and dirt are just going to rot it all back out again.

I'm sorry dude, but that sh*t just doesn't look safe...
