This looks like it may have plugged into the factory radio...... If that's the case is it for lighting? Can I use it to power the lights in the center console I'm putting in the car?

Possibly but you won't know until you put a meter on it. I did a lot of dash work for Pontiac. Fiero, Grand Am, Grand Prix, Firebird, Parisian, GMC Trucks and Vans. There is no way to remember it all.

You might get it to work, but ill-advised. The best is get a known source and work from there.

I think that translates to "trunk popper button plug". :) If it is connected to the fusebox per GM, it's hot on one side all the time with ignition on. Some people connect them to battery power then one side would be powered 24/7. I think it would be the brown wire from the fuse box, but can't recall off the top of my head. I think you may have other wiring that you can tap off of for lighting.

check to see if it has power with key on and key off headlight on and off it would be best if it only comes on with the lights ..it could be a plug to the heater controls or maybe the cigarette lighter i know they have different cigarette lighter plugs they will vary with the year
