400 blocks are pretty damn scarce. Most of us oval track guys used to hoard them in the 80's, before alloy blocks were allowed in many racing associations. I bought quite a few Impalas and Caprices back then just for the motor. FWIW the 383 kits for a 350 are quite inexpensive nowadays, and will get you very close to a 400 in output, without the expense of machine work on a worn out 400 crank and block.

I've got a complete short block, but I don't know if you'd want to drive that far. I tneeds rebuilt but comes with some goodies too.
