Does any know where i could find a complete 400 chevy or LS1 for my 85 salon? I found a 400 a while ago but by the time i got my money it was sold.....

400 blocks are pretty damn scarce. Most of us oval track guys used to hoard them in the 80's, before alloy blocks were allowed in many racing associations. I bought quite a few Impalas and Caprices back then just for the motor. FWIW the 383 kits for a 350 are quite inexpensive nowadays, and will get you very close to a 400 in output, without the expense of machine work on a worn out 400 crank and block.

I've got a complete short block, but I don't know if you'd want to drive that far. I tneeds rebuilt but comes with some goodies too.
thanks 4 the help.....but i just found a 400 motor/trans & a lot of other good stuff 4 a pretty good price ill post pics once i start the build
